'The Good Wife' Season 5 Spoilers: Cliffhanger Finale Ahead, Alicia Opens 'A New Chapter'
"The Good Wife" season five is rapidly winding down to the finale with another installment entitled "The Deep Web" airing this Sunday.
With just two more episodes left in the season, fans are anxious to see the "new chapter" in Alicia Florrick's life. "The Good Wife" executive producer Robert King offered hints at what lies ahead on the season five finale of the CBS drama, warning fans that it will leave some things unanswered.
"It's not a cliffhanger in that, 'Oh, which way is Alicia going to choose,'" the EP explained to TVLine. "It's more of a cliffhanger in that, 'Oh, NOW what does that mean? That's an interesting decision.' It's a cliffhanger of a new chapter opening in Alicia's life."
As for the shocking death of Will during season five, King said that the election-rigging part of the storyline is still very much alive despite his departure.
"Never say never, but at least for this season, Will's [death] got Peter off the hook, which is playing into some of Alicia's angst about Peter," the EP divulged. "But that doesn't mean [it won't] come back, because things tend to- especially for the Governor if Illinois."
Meanwhile, CBS recently announced that Alicia (portrayed by Julianna Marguiles) will be introduced to a new love interest named Daniel Irwin, to be portrayed by "Lost" star Nestor Carbonnell, according to TV Guide. The rumored introduction is set to take place during May 4's episode, "The Deep Web."
"The Good Wife" airs on CBS Sundays at 9 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "The Deep Web" is as follows: "Alicia considers options outside of her marriage when she meets a handsome entrepreneur, while serving on jury duty. To help think through the situation, she consults her mother. Meanwhile, Diane helps some friend when their son is accused of selling drugs on the internet."
