The race to challenge Trump: Biden strengthens lead in polls, endorsements
The Endorsement Primary
Political website fivethirtyeight.com is keeping track of the number of endorsements that each of the Democratic primary candidates are receiving.
FiveThirtyEight used a points system scaled 10 to 1, with 10 points awarded for endorsements from former presidents or vice presidents as well as current national party leaders, 8 points for governors, 6 for U.S. Senators, and lower scores for less notable figures.
Since announcing his candidacy, Biden has seen explosive growth in his score, going from fifth place with 18 points last month to first place with 88 points in data updated on Monday.
Biden unseated Booker, who previously held the number one spot with 57 points, a total that remains the same since last month.
Behind Booker is Harris with 55 points, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota with 39 points (a decrease from her previous 44 points reported last month), and Warren with 25 points.
