Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice, of New Jersey, now faces 10 years behind bars after being indicted on a charge that includes impersonation and wrongfully using identifying information of another, according to CNN.

Although Giudice has previously insisted he is innocent, law enforcement alleges that he posed as his brother when trying to obtain a drivers license in Patterson, N.J.

A grand jury indicted Giudice on two counts on Tuesday in Passaic County, N.J.

"They didn't even catch me driving...They came to my house and said you're driving with your brother's license and then they got me with some kind of stupid charge," Giudice insisted on the reality show.

Giudice allegedly used his brother's marriage documents and birth certificate to obtain a license at the Paterson motor vehicle office in 2010.

The 40-year-old's license was reportedly suspended at the time and law enforcement eventually caught on to the fraudulent activity during a routine traffic stop.

The incident is not the first legal problem faced by the Giudices.

The couple filed for bankruptcy in 2009 with relation to an $11 million debt, which they dealt with on the TV show.

Teresa, a 39-year-old mother of four, was slammed by critics for her lavish spending and expensive tastes which many suspect contributed to the large debt.

Earlier this year, the couple withdrew their initial bankruptcy filing after they were accused of hiding assets.

Critics questioned how the family could continue to display what was perceived as an opulent lifestyle, while claiming they were bankrupt.

Teresa's sister in law, Melissa Gorga, also criticized her for dealing with a serious matter so publicly.

The couple have reportedly resolved their outstanding debts, and are preparing to battle out Giudice's latest charges in court.
