'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers and Cast News: A Replacement for Michael Muhney Found?

"The Young and the Restless" fans were left disappointed by the disappearance of Adam Newman after actor Michael Muhney was fired from the show, but recent reports indicate some good news for viewers.

This week on "Y&R," Victor Newman confirmed that Adam Newman is still alive, leaving fans wondering if Newman will reappear on the show.

While fans have voiced the strong desire to have Muhney return to the role of Newman, the actor is not likely to re-join the cast, according to fan sites.

According to "The Young and the Restless" insiders, fan favorite Muhney will not be returning to the show after his firing over sexual harassment charges earlier this year.

However, "Y&R" show runners are anxious to replace Muhney and are getting a helping hand from fans online who point to "One Life to Live" alum Trevor St. John. While the actors bear a resemblance to one another, fans are also taken with St. John's performances in the past and are positive about the possibility of adding him to the "Y&R" cast.

Muhney last appeared on "Y&R" during the Jan. 30 episode in which his character Adam Newman "died." Now, the writers of the drama are said to be laying the groundwork for Adam to return, making his way back home to Genoa City.

Furthermore, several reports seem to confirm Adam's return, including a source at Radar Online that revealed "Y&R" producers are searching for the "best actor" who the "audience will grow to love" since Adam will become "central to the show."

Meanwhile, Muhney's abrupt exit from "Y&R" set producers back on the show, and they are seeking a very specific replacement actor in an attempt to avoid a dramatic firing from happening again.

"If there is even a hint of diva behavior, or drama, the role won't go to that person. Period," an insider at Radar Online revealed. "Everyone wants to move on from that disaster."
