Tim Tebow Has American Atheists Talking

Tim Tebow has been gaining increased support from more that just Christians as a Satanist, Muslim brothers, and now an Atheist have come to his defense in some way or another.

Dave Silverman, the president of American Atheists, makes an argument against Tebow as a Christian but at the same time compliments him outside of the Christian realm.

He explained that "Tebowing" is kind of like posing as Rodin's the Thinker, which is a humanist symbol because it shows the intellect as man by himself.

"The universe has a trillion stars," he said. "Ninety five percent of it is dark matter. It's hubris to think the Creator of all that wants the Broncos to win a football game."

Silverman believes Tebow is victim of himself, and said he is "brainwashing" himself into believing God has something to do with his victories.

The Atheist leader believes Tebow should be receiving more credit than he is actually getting because of his propensity to win tough games and come back from diversity.

Eric Adelson wrote on his blog, "What Tebow does, better than just about any other quarterback, is approach danger. Embrace danger."

"He plows right into the line, like a fullback, and he seems to cherish the role," he continued.

While Tebow's winning may or may not be a direct influence from the hand of God, what can be agreed upon is he is a winner and his faith bolsters his courage in tough situations.

Earlier in the season Satanist priest Peter H. Gilmore said God has nothing to do with Tebow winning because that would imply God is making other teams lose, which is not God's nature.

However, he does feel that Tebow's belief in God has helped him mentally and positively as he has something to push for. "Satanists are atheists, and we would consider any triumph to rely on a combination of skill and luck – most certainly not in any form of supernatural intervention from either Heaven or Hell," he told TMZ.
