Tonéx To Sing National Anthem At Red Sox Vs. Yankees Game

Grammy nominated artist Tonéx will join the ranks of Ray Charles, Lou Rawls, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler by singing the National Anthem on Friday, July 15, before the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees game. The producer, songwriter, actor and Jive/Verity Records recording artist will sing before a crowd of over 37, 000 at the historic Fenway Park in Boston, MA.

“Singing the National Anthem at any event is a coveted spot, but singing it before such a major game – the Red Sox vs. the Yankees – will certainly go down as one of the highlights of my career,” said Tonéx. “I’ve worked hard to get my music out to diverse audiences and God has provided me with another opportunity to do so.”

Tonéx’s singing of the National Anthem follows his performance at the 36th Annual GMA Music Awards, which was described as “electric shock” by Top40-charts.com. The artist performed a song called “Alive 2,” which Billboard describes as being, “as if Led Zeppelin, George Clinton, and Prince have all just found Jesus.” “Alive 2” is from Tonéx’s third album Out the Box, a two-disc project that earned the artist 6 Stellar Awards and a Grammy nomination.
