Toni Braxton Retires From Music, Admits 'Female Mid-Life Crisis'
Toni Braxton has announced that she will be making the switch from music to acting after revealing that she no longer has passion for being a recording artist.
With eight Grammy Awards under her belt and a career that has spanned over two decades, Toni Braxton has announced that she is finished being a recording artist. The "Un-Break My Heart" singer has admitted that singing is no longer what thrills her.
"I'm not sure what's going on in my life," she told "Good Morning America" on Friday. "Maybe a female mid-life crisis? My heart isn't in it anymore. I hate to say that."

The singer added that having a passion for music was essential to being successful in her field.
"For what I do I have to love it," the 45-year-old singer confessed to The Grio. "I have to feel that excitement and it's gone."
Instead, Braxton plans to focus on her acting skills. The singer began her film-acting career in 2001 with "Kingdom Come." Her latest venture also includes a recent Lifetime movie titled, "Twist of Faith." She has also appeared in television commercials, mostly dealing with beauty and hair care products.
The recording decision means that Braxton won't be up for creating any new albums, although she may still perform.
"I'm just not going to do any albums anymore; maybe touring occasionally here and there because I love performing, but not as much as I did in the past," she said. "But no new projects."
Braxton also has her own reality show, "Braxton Family Values," which is entering a third season, but she isn't thrilled about being known as a reality star. She hopes instead to become a more serious actress.
"I hate to have reality star behind my name," Braxton admitted. "That's just not what I wanted to be when I grew up."
