'TRON' Comes to Life Through Real Electric Lightcycle (VIDEO)

The Parker Brothers, makers of custom motorcycles, have created a real-life Electric Lightcycle from the movie "TRON."

The brothers built and revealed their custom "Tron" Lightcycle last December. Now, a much improved version has come to light. The iconic vehicle was built from scratch, excluding its engine.

Brothers Marc and Shanon Parker have garnered a lot of attention in their home state of Florida by tech geeks and movie buffs alike. The brothers have now opted to hold a contest to give away the Lightcyle to one lucky individual.

The Electric "TRON" Lightcycle is powered by a 96 volt electric motor and lithium ion batteries. It reaches a top speed of 100 mph. Its range measures out to 100 miles on a single range, with a 35-minute recharge time.

The Suzuki 4-stroke driven model is still being sold through Hammacher Schlemmer for $55,000 each. Florida Today reported, "The Parker brothers have gotten orders for five Tron bikes, which are selling for $55,000 each. The bikes have been photographed by several magazines and will be featured in a rap video."

The lightcycles were first introduced to movie goer's in the Disney science fiction film "TRON", which was first released in theaters in 1982. The plot followed protagonist Kevin Flynn, played by Jeff Bridges, as he tried to escape from the very same game he created. The film's sequel, "TRON Legacy", came to theaters in 2010.

There's no word yet on pricing or availability of the current All Electric Lightcycle. This model is based on the electric lightcycles introduced in the "TRON Legacy" film.

Video footage of the "TRON" Electric Lightcycle has hit the Internet and is garnering a substantial number of views thus far. A few other videos can be seen showing the making of said vehicle as well.

The motto for Parker Brothers Choppers? "If you can dream it...we can build it."
