Usain Bolt, Chicken Nuggets Inseparable? Sprinter Says He Ate '1,000' McNuggets at 2008 Olympics

The undisputed world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, revealed in his recently published memoir that he ate at least 1,000 McDonald's chicken nuggets while at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 because he is not a fan of Chinese food.

In excerpts referenced by the New York Post, Bolt called Chinese food "odd" and decided to give McDonald's a try. And for the publicity he's about to give McDonald's, he deserves some sponsorship coin:

"At first I ate a box of 20 [McNuggets] for lunch, then another for dinner," Bolt writes. "The next day I had two boxes for breakfast, one for lunch and then another couple in the evening. I even grabbed some fries and an apple pie to go with it."

That diet works out to 100 nuggets every 24 hours for ten days. During that time he also was able to win gold medals in the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 4x100 meter relay events.

Bolt also set new records more recently in Russia during August World Championships in Moscow. Bolt won his third gold medal at the 2013 World Athletic Championships running the anchoring leg for Jamaica in the 4x100 relay.

Bolt became the most decorated competitor in the competition's 30 year history after winning a gold medal in the 4x100-meter relay final.

American sprinter Carl Lewis had held the record, but while bolt holds a total of eight gold and two silver world championship medals, Lewis only holds eight gold, a silver and a bronze.

Bolt told the Los Angeles Times that in spite of breaking the record for most world championship medals, he plans to keep working and pushing himself. "I'll continue dominating," Bolt said. "I'll continue to work hard. For me, my aim is to continue hard into the greatness thing."
