Vin Diesel- 'Facebook Owe Me Billions'

Popular action star and avid social networker Vin Diesel is one of the most popular celebrities in the world, with 41 million likes on Facebook. He recently joked that Facebook "owes me billions."

He made the comment in jest during a Q&A with Entertainment Weekly and explained how his quest to social media superiority started.

"So, when I had started my page, the only person that had a million fans was Barack Obama. Because it was first-quarter 2009, and he'd just got elected as President, because of social media. So, when I started talking to the fans, I became the No. 1 page in the world. Over Coca-Cola, over huge companies. And it was only because I said: 'Hi, guys, I love you.'"

Diesel says the key to Facebook success is interacting with fans, and has never let anyone but himself do the posting for him in his four years on the site.

"When I jumped on that page in April 2009, I started talking to people. In the realest ways. Imagine if you could've been a Facebook friend to Marlon Brando, or whoever your role models are. Imagine, if you were able to Facebook Elvis, and talk to him, and hear from him without the Hollywood of it all. That was the 'Fast & Furious' experience," he said in his interview.

Yahoo reports Vin Diesel was once the number one fan page in the world, and was even called into Facebook headquarters to explain his success.

"Facebook really owes me billions of dollars," he said jokingly to Entertainment Weekly.

The 46-year-old actor says he also uses Facebook as a tool to promote his up and coming projects with his latest being "Fast & Furious 6" coming to theaters May 24.

The movie features other big names such as: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, and Michelle Rodriguez.
