Want a Cheap Tablet? Lenovo's IdeaPad to Go for $199
HP's $99 TouchPad last month caused a buying frenzy among consumers and now it seems that everyone wants a cheap tablet.
Lenovo quickly discerned the trending appetite for low-cost tablets and announced it was launching the IdeaPad A1, costing just $199.
Although not as cheap as HP's marked-down price of $99, it is the cheapest branded tablet in the industry that won't be discontinued (like the HP TouchPad) and offers good options.

Although the 7-inch IdeaPad is 2.7 inches smaller than Apple's iPad 2, its price as compared to the iPad 2's or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1's $499 is surely outstanding.
It does a good job also when compared to other same league 7-inch branded tablets. Take for instance Acer's Iconia Tab at $329, Samsung's Galaxy Tab at $280, or even the rumored 7-inch Amazon tablet that will sell for $250, according to TechCrunch.
The IdeaPad A1 runs Android 2.3, code named Gingerbread, is 0.5 inches thick, and weighs less than 500 grams.

Shipping for the IdeaPad will begin at the end of September and will be sold through partnering retailers.
