Warren Barfield Signs With Reunion Records
R & R Magazines #1 New Artist of 2003 Warren Barfield has signed with Provident Label Groups Reunion Records. The announcement was delivered last night at the Christian Booksellers Association International Convention by labelmate Third Day prior to Barfields scheduled performance at the events Sunday Night Live Showcase.
I am very excited about becoming part of Provident, Barfield notes. Theyve been very kind and supportive of me since I first came to Nashville.
Barfields first release on Reunion will be the follow up to his self-titled debut release on Creative Trust Workshop, which delivered two top ten singles with My Heart Goes Out and Mistaken. Barfield is currently on tour promoting the new album, which is scheduled to release early next year.
I am just so thrilled to finish this new record, said Barfield. Its been nearly two years since the last album. So, I have had a long time to pour out my heart in songs and experience different seasons of my life to write about. I am anxious about getting new music out where people can hear it.
The son of a North Carolina preacher, one of the numerous reasons why Warren Barfield is such a rare entity lies in his humble beginnings. Instead of taking the predictable path for most aspiring singer-songwriters, this young artist spent five years (between the ages of 18 and 23) logging almost 200,000 miles in his trusty 93 Mustang, carting himself and his acoustic guitar from church to church all over the U.S. all year round, all by himself. After opening up for Word Recording artist Scott Krippayne, who was handed a copy of Barfields demo, Warren found himself in Nashville writing and recording his debut album.
