Warren Sapp Questioning Headbutt, Not Evelyn Lozada

Warren Sapp, former NFL defensive tackle, recently expressed his opinion about reality star Evelyn Lozada, but said media outlets may have taken his comments out of context when he made headlines for blaming the "Basketball Wives" star for the domestic dispute involving NFL free agent Chad Johnson.

Sapp, 39, recently participated in an interview with Miami New Times where he was quoted saying that 36-year-old Lozada may be the person to blame for Johnson's current legal trouble which resulted in him being cut from the Miami Dolphins. The former footballer questioned if Johnson actually headbutted Lozada in the Miami New Times report.

"Come on. Tell me the first and last name of a brother who headbutted someone," Sapp said. "When is the last time one of your homeboys called you and told you, 'Let me tell you about this fight at the club last night where this guy and his girlfriend were walking by and he turned around and headbutted the girl.' Never."

Still, the footballer said his comments were not meant to be a slight toward Lozada when clearing up his statements on The Dan Patrick Show recently. According to Sapp, he did not believe Lozada or Johnson headbutted one another.

"...There's no way on God's green earth that I would say that the lady as good as she looks...would headbutt a man," Sapp told Patrick. "Are you kidding me? A man will punch another man or something like that, so I'm like are you kidding me, headbutt?"

Sapp said although he likes to conduct entertaining interviews, his interviewer may not have
interpreted his responses correctly.

"I have to find the young lady's number and ask her to play the tape for herself," Sapp said.

When Patrick attempted to get to the bottom of the matter by asking Sapp if he ever said Lozada was to blame for the domestic dispute, the former NFL player gave an absolute answer.

"No way, point, shape, time, ever," Sapp said.
