Watch Thousands Sing Christmas Carols Outside the Window of a Little Girl With Cancer (VIDEO)
On Saturday, thousands of people sang Christmas carols on a neighborhood street in West Reading, Pa. for Delaney Brown. In May, Laney, as she's known, was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. Since the diagnosis, the 8-year-old's fight against cancer has been documented on a Facebook page that's collected over 100,000 followers.
Sadly, doctors recently told her family she has just days to live. Friday was her birthday, and after coming home from the hospital, one of her wishes was granted as she talked with country star Taylor Swift, a local native, over video chat. Another wish was to hear Christmas carols, and the community came through to show her how much she's loved.
Up to 8,000 people gathered under Laney's window for the event organized by West Reading police. As the crowd sang, Laney's mother posted this photo of her enjoying the sound with the caption "I can hear you now!!! Love you!"
The night was captured in the video from WPVI below. And as Laney fights to see what may be her last Christmas, her family asks for prayers and songs of praise for her life.
