The 2011 Emmy Nominations
Many of the nominees were also on last year’s ballot, but the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards have plenty of new and exciting contenders on the list as well. The show on Fox will be hosted by Jane Lynch of Glee, a supporting actress in the nominated comedy series.
The top five nominees start with Mad Men, AMC’s hit drama series about the advertising world in the 60’s, with 19, followed by HBO’s series Boardwalk Empire with 18 nominations.
Comedy series Modern Family received a total of 17 nominations, while Saturday Night Live had 16 Emmy nods, and HBO’s new series Game of Thrones tied with NBC’s 30 Rock at 13.
The Emmy’s Award winners will be announced live on September 18 from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre.
