Why Atheism Is Dead on Arrival
Atheists try not to think about the question: "Why is there something rather than nothing?" Atheism has no rational answer to this fundamental question, and even considering the question has the potential to chip away at the beliefs of an atheist.
In addition, the theory of atheism has no explanation for the development of the human mind, and no logical rationale as to why man chooses to believe in a deity.

Atheism is clueless as to why this happens. For that matter, atheists have no authority to speak to the rightness or wrongness of any worldview. After all, they believe everything is ultimately the direct result of random accidents. This means atheism itself is an accident.
Talk about a shaky foundation for your worldview. I suppose this is the quintessential example of self-deception.
Atheism cannot even explain why its own belief system isn't dominating the hearts and minds of the majority of people throughout the world today. Atheism isn't evolving into a stronger and more dominant belief system. Instead, scores of people have come to realize that atheism is a roaring lion without teeth or claws.
Atheism has no explanation for man's spiritual longings, or for the spread of Christianity over the past 2,000 years. Atheists went looking for a reason to reject God, and they thought they finally found a legitimate basis for such rejection in the unscientific theory of macroevolution. But they forgot to take into account the major premise of their own doctrine. You cannot claim that man and the universe lack a Designer on the front end, while also claiming that your worldview of random accidents is a superior explanation of reality.
Says who? Your brain? Your evolved thought patterns?
Simply put, atheism is a fictitious worldview constructed through mental speculation.
Atheists latch on to the myth that there is no Creator and no supernatural cause for anything. But in order to maintain faith in such a speculative theory, you must continually tell yourself things that lack any proof whatsoever.
Meanwhile, why does Christianity advance even in the face of martyrdom? Why does the message of the risen Savior continue to be trusted by millions of people based on the evidence at the scene of the crime 2,000 years ago? Shouldn't naturalism have dominated and destroyed Christian faith long ago?
Atheists of course are not the only opponents of Christ. Religious extremists plot to wipe Christianity off the face of the earth, and yet God continues to supernaturally spread the good news of the Gospel around the world today.
But why do people all over the planet continue to accept Christ as the promised Messiah? Well, they first examine the evidence of the eyewitnesses. (see Richard Bauckham's "Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony") And then they base their belief on the fact that the Creator is behind a lengthy list of supernatural occurrences, not the least of which is the resurrection of Christ.
Meanwhile, atheists continue to place their faith in atheism. It is a mental choice that stems from a variety of personal, family, spiritual, and religious factors.
Unfortunately for atheists, the intellectual and philosophical foundation of atheism is terribly flawed and actually crumbles under the weight of its own lack of evidence. On top of that, atheists have no idea why atheism isn't producing nearly as many followers as Christianity.
So then why become an atheist?
If truth be told, it often tends to be a rather emotional decision. And you are left to explain what makes your emotions and your human reason any more reliable than the emotions and rational thought experienced by billions of other human beings.
Atheism can't have it both ways. Either a supernatural Creator who is perfect in every way defines right and wrong, or every worldview is suspect and left blowing in the wind according to the creative imagination and whims of the human mind.
The man who refuses to trust God is a man who assumes he can trust his own senses and opinions. And so he looks for ways to shore up his weak position, and to convince himself that his perceptions are in perfect alignment with the visible and invisible realities of the universe.
In his mind, the atheist assumes his theory has delivered him from the reality of God. But who is to say that his mind is trustworthy in correctly evaluating and understanding the evidence? Unfortunately, atheism reinforces the misguided belief that Jesus Christ was confused about reality when He walked on this earth.
Atheism is dead on arrival because it places absolute trust in a worldview that is based on accidents. In other words, an atheist stakes the welfare of his eternal existence on chance. Placing your faith in chance is like convincing yourself that you will definitely win the lottery five times in a row. You may truly believe such a fantasy because it gives you some measure of comfort, but it is a pipe dream with no real power to truly benefit your life in this world or beyond.
And the sad truth is that the pipe dream of atheism was dead before it ever showed up in your personal consciousness. Some dreams evolve into nightmares, while others result in a rainbow. So be careful what you wish for, and what you then choose to accept as the foundational belief system of your earthly existence.
