Woods With Vonn for Red Carpet Debut (PHOTOS)
Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn have made their first appearance on the red carpet together this week three months after announcing their relationship.
The pair attended the 2013 Met Gala, also known as the Costume Institute Benefit hosted by New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, which took place Monday night in Manhattan.
Although Woods and Vonn each took to Facebook confirming their romance, the two athletes are very private and are rarely seen in public together.
However, on Monday, the professional golfer escorted Vonn, 28, to the Met Gala. It marked the first time the pair had ever posed together on a red carpet.
Dressed in a tuxedo, Woods complimented Vonn's white gown as they posed together. The golf pro even wrapped his arm around the Olympic skier's waist as they smiled for photos during the event, according to Yahoo! News.
Woods first acknowledged his relationship with Vonn in March.
"Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating," the world-renowned golfer wrote on Facebook. "We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
Alternately, taking to her own Facebook page with the dating news, Vonn added that she would not "plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between my family and close friends."
"Thank you for understanding and your continued support! Xo LV," she added.
Meanwhile, the theme of Monday's gala was "Punk: Chaos to Couture" and saw dozens of unusual outfits.
For example, 20-year-old Miley Cyrus styled her cropped blonde hair into spikes, while 31-year-old Nicole Richie debuted curious gray hair.
Also cohesive with Monday night's punk theme, actresses such as Sarah Jessica Parker and January Jones included mohawks in their look for the evening, while Sienna Miller and Madonna opted for accessories involving metal spikes.
