'X Factor' Results: Rachel Crow Sent Home in Shocking Elimination (VIDEO)
‘X Factor’ favorite Rachel Crow has been eliminated from the competition leaving audience members shocked.
The 13-year-old found herself in the bottom two Thursday night after viewers’ votes were tallied. Standing alongside contestant Marcus Canty, Crow’s name was called announcing her exit from the singing competition.
After the show, the talented singer spoke to reporters about her reaction to her elimination after she and Canty’s votes had been tied.
“Marcus has been in the bottom two,” said Crow. “I think, honestly, everybody was thinking that [Canty would be eliminated].”
Entertainment Weekly reported that Crow harbors no regrets or hard feelings. “[Canty] was trying to console me. I was like, ‘Console me?’ Celebrate! Be happy,” said Crow.
According to E! News, Crow claims that the voting results did not shock her.
“I’m 13. I’m not preparing myself for this kind of stuff, so when it happened, I was like a scared reaction – almost like a look of terror,” the young singer explained of her response on stage. “Then I just kind of fell because I was like, ‘I can’t breathe.’”
On the show, ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell served as Crow’s mentor. Upon her elimination, he reassured her that she has a very bright future and suggested Disney or Nickelodeon. In addition, Cowell mentioned singer Jennifer Hudson who found success even after being voted off of “American Idol.”
After her mentor drew the comparison to Hudson, Crow said, “I’m speechless about how amazing she is. Being compared to her, Beyonce, Etta James, that is quite the thrill right there.”
‘X Factor’ judge Nicole Scherzinger admitted surprise over the elimination Thursday as well. Speaking to E! News, she said, “I don’t know, everything happens for a reason.”
The judge continued, “Rachel, it was a surprise to me that she was in the bottom two and now that she’s being sent home. But no, I had to leave it up to America.”
The four remaining ‘X Factor’ finalists are Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, and Marcus Canty. The competition will continue Wednesday on FOX at 8 p.m. EST.
