Xbox One Gets an Unboxing Video Ahead of Release Date

Microsoft launched an unboxing video for the Xbox One console just ahead of its release date.

This new video features The Day One edition of the system being looked at. It includes the special Day One packaging, a unique controller, and a digital achievement. This version will be limited at retail.

The video also shows off the new Kinect that comes with a 1080p camera, a four-microphone array, and IR blasting functionality that allows users to control all of their electronic devices.

The controller will have the ability to switch to wired mode and work over Micro-USB without batteries and the same cord can be used to charge rechargeable batteries with the Play and Charge Kit.

Chat quality on the console will have three times the sampling rate as it did on the Xbox 360. The system's new headset can be worn on a user's right of left ear and will feature a bendable rotating boom mic. Mute and volume functions can be toggled without users taking their hands off the controller.

The Xbox One will come with an HDMI cable and it will support a/b/g/n wireless protocols along with 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies.

The console features 8GB of RAM, an 8-Core CPU, 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray drive, HDMI in and out ports, USB 3.0, 802.11n wireless, and a built-in Kinect sensor. Microsoft described the Xbox One as an "all in one system" that is made for encompassing games, entertainment and television all into one device.

The graphic capabilities on the Xbox One were displayed during the introduction of the new "Call of Duty: Ghosts" game at the unveiling event earlier this year. Three comparisons were made during the presentation that featured images taken from "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" and the company's next-generation "Ghosts" title. The difference in graphic capabilities was astounding as the new system is able to create visuals with life-like detail, all the way from the scars on a man's skin, or the hairs on a dog's body.
