Xbox One Release Date Rumors: Microsoft to Launch Console on November 8?

Microsoft may be attempting to undercut the release date of the PS4 by launching the Xbox One a week earlier than them, on November 8.

Gaming site Kotaku made the first report earlier this week citing an inside source from Microsoft.

According to CBS news, many felt Microsoft held out on the Xbox One's release date so they could wait until Sony struck first, so they could rebuttal with a sooner date.

Kotaku had a conference call with Walmart employees who said Microsoft sent them screenshots of the Xbox One console with a November 8 release date although it did not say confirmed on the sheet.

The original Xbox was set to launch on November 8 2001, but was pushed back to the 15th at the last minute.

This news comes on the heels of Microsoft allegedly having to cut their production of the Xbox One from 7 million to 6.2 million because yield issues on the consoles components and production are slowing the company down.

Microsoft already delayed their initial launch from 21 countries to 13.

Countries that will be getting the console are Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand according to Forbes.

Other countries that were expecting first day release were Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland. They will now get the console "as soon as possible," the Xbox One website said.
