Based on the report by NDTV Gadgets, the Redmi Note 2 Prime is higher midrange device that is aimed at the mass market. The Xiaomi smartphone packs a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Helio X10 chipset (2.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 + 2.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53), an option for either 16GB or 32GB of built-in memory and a 3,060mAh battery.
The device also boasts a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front shooter for selfies. In the report, the device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned by the highly popular MIUI 7 ecosystem. The Android-powered smartphone also comes with the usual connectivity options such as GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, plus it supports dual 4G LTE standby.
However, what makes the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime enticing for shoppers is its pricing. In the report, the device will only cost CNY 999 in China, around Rs. 10,000 in India, and about $160 in the US, which is pretty cheap.
Given the specs list of the device, the smartphone will surely be a good sell for budget shoppers who want to have a bigger smartphone. No wonder, the device is seen as a competitor of the iPhone 6, especially in emerging markets.
