3. MoveOn: ‘Trump is finally being held accountable for his criminal conduct’
The far-left Democratic activist group MoveOn, created in the late 1990s to encourage the American public to “move on” from then-President Bill Clinton’s sex scandal involving Monica Lewinsky and his subsequent perjury about the matter, reacted with glee to the news of Trump’s indictment.
In a statement released Thursday, MoveOn Executive Director Rahna Epting expressed gratitude that “after years of avoiding any liability for his actions, Trump is finally being held accountable for his criminal conduct.” She cited his “felony indictment in New York” as well as the additional legal challenges he faces and the two impeachments he has undergone as evidence that “Donald Trump does not belong on any ballot for public office.”
“No one is above the law, and that includes Donald Trump. He is a disgrace, those that protect him are willing accomplices, and he does not have the moral standing to hold public office ever again,” she proclaimed.

Epting characterized the charges facing the former president as “not a trivial matter.” According to Epting, “Trump defrauded voters ahead of the 2016 election by illegally concealing critical information that should have been in the public record and then breaking the law again in covering up his crime.”
