After 50 Cent's Accident, Rapper is 'Doing Fine'

Curtis Jackson, who is known by his fans as 50 Cent, has been released from the hospital after being injured in a car accident in New York.

The 36-year-old was traveling on the Long Island Expressway when his vehicle was hit by a truck which reportedly lost control; the rapper's 51 year-old driver, Bruce Miller, was also taken to New York Hospital in Queens with minor injuries and was later released.

The Mack truck hit the 2005 Chevy Suburban from behind late Monday night as the SUV was about to exit Interstate 495. Photos from the scene, which were posted on the website Thisis50.com, showed the rapper lying on a stretcher wearing a neck brace. Photos of the wrecked vehicles were also posted on the site.

The cause of the accident was still being determined but according to Jackson's website the truck driver "reportedly told police his loaded shifted" and that he "lost control of the vehicle" before it crashed into the SUV.

A representative for the entrepreneur stated that Jackson is resting after his ordeal and explained that the rapper is "doing fine."

Unconfirmed reports claimed the rapper's car had nearly been flipped over in the collision.

Back in May 2000, Jackson made headlines after he was shot nine times, being struck in his hand, arm, hip, legs, chest and cheek. The alleged gunman, Darryl "Hommo" Baum, was killed three weeks later.

Jackson later said of the incident: "I was scared the whole time. I was looking in the rear-view mirror like 'Oh s---, somebody shot me in the face! It burns, burns, burns."

Recently Jackson has become an advocate for the many starving children of Africa by working with the World Food Program to direct proceeds from his Street King energy drink in order to provide a meal to a hungry child.
