'Agents of SHIELD' Season 3 Episode 8 Spoilers: Coulson Finds Out New Threat; Fitz, Simmons Getting Closer
ABC's hit superhero drama TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 3 returns this week with a brand new episode that is expected to see the chemistry of two operatives further manifesting. Meanwhile, the team's head discovers a new threat coming on hard towards them.
Citing the spoiler report from Carter Matt, there's a good chance that the episode titled "Many Heads, One Tale," will see agent Leo Fitz finally breaking down what he truly feels for his partner in crime, Agent Jemma Simmons.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jed Whedon recognized the fact the relationship between the two has been changing "visibly."
Like most romantic pairings, Fitz and Simmon's chemistry "is something that was conceived, in creating the characters, as two people who are inseparable."
The EP's wife, who also happens to serve as showrunner, Maurissa Tancharoen, admitted in the same interview that Fitz and Simmon's relationship is somewhat based on the bond she and her husband shared.
"When we first conceived Fitz and Simmons, and we would pitch out those characters, it was something that Jed and I did by finishing each other's sentences," Tancharoen revealed.
Both Tancharoen and Whedon have admitted to be particularly fond of the two characters. Perhaps fans should expect a FitzSimmons relationship as it is more than clearly obvious. However, it will still be interesting to see how these things turn out when Simmon's former lover, Will, gets wind of the news.
Putting aside the show's budding love story, the summary from TFC meanwhile talks about Agent Phil Coulson stumbling upon information referring to ATCU and their latest threats to the agency. Meanwhile, Ward's plan to pulverize the team will take a "surprising twist."
Don't miss "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 3 airing this Tuesday, at 9 p.m. on ABC to find out more as to how these events unfold.
