Amanda Seyfried is Coop and Annie's daughter in the revival of 'Twin Peaks'?
Showtime's "Twin Peaks" revival has cast blonde beauty Amanda Seyfried in a "mysterious role" in the sequel to the hit 1990s crime-drama series "Twin Peaks." Apparently, Amanda Seyfried has a major role, almost pivotal in this revival. It has also been confirmed that she will appear in multiple episodes. This might well be Amanda Seyfried's biggest TV outing.
Amanda Seyfried is no stranger to TV Shows. She has appeared on TV shows like "Veronica Mars," "Wildfire," "All My Children" and "As the World Turns." Her last big TV show was "Big Love" in 2011. She has - at present - become one of Hollywood's biggest stars with films like "Mean Girls," "Les Miserables" and "Ted 2."
Speculations are on as to what her character will be in the revival of "Twin Peaks." Could she be Coop and Annie's daughter? In the hit series, Coop and Annie were lovers. Annie was played by Heather Graham, who had blonde hair and somewhat similar facial characteristics like Amanda's. So it would follow that she might be their daughter. The other female characters of Lucy, Shelly, Norma and even Laura had blonde highlights in their hair. But since the role is pivotal and quite major, it leads to speculations that she might return as Coop and Annie's daughter.
The original series of "Twin Peaks" aired from 1990 to 1991. The next year, a feature film of the same name was released starring Kyle Maclachlan as Special Agent Dale Cooper who tries to unravel the mystery surrounding the murder of Laura Palmer played by Sheryl Lee. The movie's name was "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me."
"Twin Peaks" co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have written all the episodes of the revival series which is scheduled to air on Showtime in 2016. David Lynch will be directing the entire series.
Showtime president David Nevins said that fans can expect "familiar faces" to join the "Twin Peaks" revival. Already, returning cast member Kyle MacLachlan has confirmed he will be appearing in the revival. "You should be optimistic that the people that you want [back] will be there, and then there will be some surprises in addition," Nevins said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in August 2015.
Amanda Seyfried is surely a surprise addition. We will keep you updated with more news until the "Twin Peaks" revival returns in 2016.
