'ANTM' Winner Lisa D'Amato Welcomes Baby Boy (PHOTO)
"America's Next Top Model All-Stars" winner Lisa D'Amato welcomed a son this weekend. D'Amato announced her son's birth via Instagram as she released two photos of the new baby.
"My baby boy Daxel Vaughn Friedman is born," D'Amato posted on Instagram along with the photos. "He is 7pds 2oz and he is perfect! I'm in love."
It's sure to be a relief for the model, who noted that her pregnancy had been a "complete nightmare," when speaking with E! News in May. Even though she was not actually sick, D'Amato struggled with body issues and feeling uncomfortable throughout the pregnancy.
"I can't believe women do this on the daily! I haven't been bedridden or anything, but nausea all day every day and only starchy, fatty foods help it subside," she told E! News.
"I'm usually feeling pretty bad but always trying to stay positive," she previously told People magazine. "When people say I'm glowing, I tell them it's because someone needs to put on the AC. That whole 'pregnancy glow' thing is a joke! There is nothing pretty about pregnancy except creating a life – other than that I think it's pretty gross."
D'Amato lost her original season of "America's Next Top Model" but was asked back to compete on a special "All-Stars" season, which she won. Since then, she has been in national campaigns. She married husband Adam Friedman last year at the Hollywood Castle in Hollywood Hills.
"My hubster is in love with our son. He's playing Dax his favorite songs. Sooo cute," she posted in another picture featuring Friedman stroking his son's face while he remains in his cradle at the hospital after being born. The black-and-white photo was posted not long after the original birth announcement on Instagram.
D'Amato will likely take time off from her career to focus on Daxel but will soon be returning to the runway. Even after enduring a broken nose, D'Amato continued working as soon as possible.
