'Bloodborne: The Old Hunters' – fantastical and gothic, expansion to be released on November 24.
Sony has unveiled "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters", a new expansion for the atmospheric action game that was released in March 2015 and is considered by many as the best and a cult game in the gothic slasher category. The Europe PlayStation blog had this to say about the new expansion: "Learn the tale of hunters who once made Yharnam their hunting grounds, meet new NPCs, and discover another side of the history and world of Bloodborne."
"The Old Hunters" is the first expansion for "Bloodborne" as was announced during Sony's Tokyo Game Show keynote. It is scheduled for release on November 24. At $20, the game will take players inside a "nightmare world where hunters from the past are trapped forever," according to the Playstation blog.
Sony also released a trailer that shows the Byrgenwerth academy to be a central location within the expansion. This will confirm fans' speculation that there was some kind of fantastic netherworld under the inconspicuous trapdoor on the academy's main floor.
The dark, gothic gameworld of "Bloodborne" has always been a marvel to behold. There are areas to be explored such as the forbidden forest, an old, abandoned part of Yharnam and the Hemwick graveyard on the outskirts of Yharnam.
The Hemwick graveyard is truly spectacular with warm coloured sky and beautiful clouds. In contrast to such beauty are the twisted deformities that live here, like the deformed gravekeeper hags with their horrifying shrieks and long reach attacks. As a person enters deep into Hemwick, they will come to a manor where a witch is on an eyeball collection spree.
As for the hunters, gamers can find them in the Old City. They may meet Gyula, an old hunter who has amazing abilities. Then there is the Priest-Hunter with a giant axe and a cool sense of style - a hunter wearing a cape made of bird feathers and having a twin blade to butcher.
If the gamer wants to find the truth, he/she will have to go to the Cainhurst castle across the thick, foggy lake. To discover the truth of "Bloodborne," gamers will have to find out what happened to the noble family. Why did they flee and what terrors did they see? What is the secret of the castle and more importantly, how can someone survive the dangers inside the Castle?
