Boruto: Naruto the Movie 2 updates, rumors

It's unimaginable to think that there will be no "Boruto: Naruto the Movie 2," especially if one looks at the kind of reception the first movie got. It's legions of fans are desperate of a new flick. But while everything seems to be pointing to another full-feature anime film, it looks like fans are going to see their worst nightmare. According to several sources, the next film in line has been cancelled in order to make room for a new series called "True Legend of Itachi."

Per iDigital Times report, any hope of a second Boruto movie is pushed aside, at least for this year due to the fact that the Naruto franchise has been quite busy with other projects, including the "Boruto Manga" and that of Itachi. Also called "Naruto Shippuden: Itachi Shinden," the story of Itachi is expected to be released by May. The flick is actually a big screen adaptation of Takashi Yano's novel.

In the equally anticipated series, there are reportedly two parts, the first one of which is called "Glory," which focuses on Itachi's childhood and his subsequent entry to the Ninja Academy. This part showcases Itachi's dream of becoming the very first Hokage Uchiha. The second part on the other hand, titled "Dark Knight," is an account of the events that prompted Itachi to eradicate the entire Uchiha Clan. It also will show the reason why he decided to spare Sasuke in the process.
