Carrie Delves Into Her Past To Find Who Is Hunting Her In Oct. 18 Episode 'Superpowers' Of 'Homeland'

The third episode "Superpowers" of "Homeland" Season 5 has Carrie hunting for the person who has made her a target. With help from her boyfriend, Jonas, she tries to unveil the mysteries of her past.

The next episode titled "Superpowers" will have Carrie going back into her past, as the synopsis states, to see who could be hunting her. Carrie and Jonas, played by German actor Alexander Fehling, will "revisit her past" together.

According to the International Business Times, an anxious Carrie tells Jonas in the trailer of episode 3, "I really thought I left all of this behind." Carrie then tells Jonas that she is going to make an 'Enemy List' so she goes through her horde of photos that she has with her and comes up at a number – 167.

Looking at the list, Jonas says, "There are hundreds of names here. All civilians, killed by drones."

If Carrie thought that settling herself in distant Germany would take her out of the spying business, she was proven wrong when she comes to know at the end of episode 2 that she was the target and not her boss, Otto During, when they were ambushed while coming out of a refugee camp in Lebanon.

The other shocker is that Quinn receives his next mission. He has to eliminate Carrie Mathison.

According to a report, three years in the Middle East has changed Quinn into a hardened operative who just mechanically goes about his job of eliminating people as he is ordered to by the CIA.

Both are at a very interesting point in their character arcs. Carrie will soon have to go back to being the tough spy, bipolar and with a daughter notwithstanding, while Quinn may get to return to be like the previous Quinn 'pre-season 4' where he is not convinced of his work and questions the dirty deeds he has to do in the name of serving the best interests of USA.

What will happen when they meet?

Showrunner Meredith Stiehm recently told E! Online "It's two years later, and they've both moved on to other things. But something's always in the air and when they cross paths again, we'll see what happens. I'm excited to see where their paths cross."

It appears that it is not just Quinn that Carrie will have to deal with. The trailer also has the CIA Berlin Station Chief Allison Carr, played by Miranda Otto, instruct her team to "keep an eye out for Carrie Mathison."
