Chelsea Clinton: '2014 is the Year of the Baby'
Chelsea Clinton likes to have a plan; she and husband Marc Mezvinsky have been focused on their careers since getting married in 2010 but Clinton recently revealed that the couple has deemed 2014 "the year of the baby."
In a new interview with Glamour magazine, Clinton explained that the death of her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Rodham, helped spur the couple to speak about family planning and their goals.
"I've never been so lost as I was when she passed," Clinton said, but it led to an important discussion.

"The first thing on the list was simple: We want, God willing, to start a family. So we decided to make 2014 the Year of the Baby. And please call my mother and tell her that," Clinton joked. But apparently Hillary is eager to become a grandmother and "asks about it every single day."
Ironically, in a 2007 interview, Hillary promised not to put any pressure on her daughter to have children. "But my friends are starting to have grandchildren and it's a great experience, so I look forward to it someday."
The two may already be preparing for baby, as they recently purchased a $10.5 million home in New York City, with extra bedrooms, perhaps for a nursery or two. It was a significant upgrade for the couple, and Bill and Hillary apparently toured the home before Chelsea and Marc signed on the dotted lines.
Clinton and Mezvinsky are both determined to keep working as hard as possible to ensure a good future for their children. She recently left a job on Wall Street to join her father and mother on the board of the Clinton Global Initiative, which just had its annual meeting last week in New York.
"My grandmother was determined that everyone feel a sense of optimism and opportunity. Marc and I want to make sure we're doing that," Chelsea said. "This period in our lives is not just a tribute to her, it's inspired by her. And it's for when we have our own children – I want to help make sure we've got a world I want them to live in."
