'Code Vein' Latest News: Bandai Namco Releases New Gameplay Trailer, Reveals Bloody and Dark Story
Though "Code Vein" will likely be several months away from its launching, Bandai Namco released more juicy details for the game over the weekend.
During a stage show at the Tokyo Game Show last weekend, the developer released a new trailer for the upcoming action role-playing video game. By the looks of it, the game will render a dark and bloody storyline.
The trailer showcased remarkable cutscenes that come with actual gameplay. The video also gave a teaser of new characters including monstrous opponents and a "Queen" who happens to be the main villain of the story.
Furthermore, PlayStation also presented a live show led by Director Hiroshi Yoshimura as he played the game. The director discussed details of the dungeon, as well as the boss and its attacks. Meanwhile, DualShockers reported that the game will also showcase music from the Vamps, a rock duo based in Japan. The game will feature the Vamp's recent track titled "Underworld," as well as other selections from their album with the same name.
Earlier this month, Bandai Namco released some 1080p screenshots showing the game's broad character creation. The images showed the different custom options players have for their characters. These include flexibility in various elements like the hair, physique, gender, and voice, among others.
Moreover, the developer also released screenshots featuring the "Code Vein's" battle system. This included the Stamina Gauge, Special Drains and Drain Actions, Partner Actions, and the Focus System.
According to TrustedReviews, players get to enjoy the game with a companion system. This allows gamers to team up with an ally, which they can recruit. Moreover, the game also features gifts or supernatural powers that can be customized and upgraded to fit the gamers' style of play.
Some of the key characters include Mia Karnstein, a female Revenant who wanders the place called "Vein" with her younger brother; and Yakumo Shinonome, a fellow Revenant and mercenary who sports a cool, calm, and professional stance while in combat. Other confirmed characters include Louis and Io who both help the Revenants' cause.
"Code Vein" launches sometime in 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
