'Criminal Minds' Season 11 News: Episode 18 Once Again Sheds Light on Morgan's Plight

The rumors are rife surrounding the departure of Shemar Moore's character Derek Morgan in CBS' hit police procedural drama TV series "Criminal Minds."

Fans of the show might be speculating if the criminal profiler will be able to survive Season 11 given the recent tumultuous events that happened to him. For those who missed it, the last two episodes saw Derek's life got endangered. In "Derek," he was kidnapped and tortured. Thanks to the memory of his father, he was able to survive the harsh ordeal. He proposed to his pregnant girlfriend Savannah (Rochelle Aytes) however, their happiness was cut short when a gun shot was heard in "The Sandman."

The events are about to get even more intense and dire as Morgan continues to get into the bottom of things in the upcoming episode titled "Beautiful Disaster." The synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic simply indicates that "when an UnSub targets the BAU, the team goes into action to find out who is responsible." Fans can quickly deduce that the summary could be talking about Morgan.

The promo trailer adds in more details on what is about to transpire in the upcoming episode. From the looks of it, it seems not that pleasant. The clip opens up with JJ (AJ Cook), Hotch (Thomas Gibson), and Rossi (Joe Mantegna) coming out from an emergency hospital looking quite a bit worried and shocked. A scene from a memory shows Morgan carrying an unconscious Savannah. A flashback of the two kissing in the open was then shown followed by a loud gunshot. Morgan can now be seen angry and desperate as he tells Hotch that he just can't "sit down and do nothing."

This gives Hotch the impression that his man is not emotionally capable to handle the case and so dropped him off the job. But he was wrong. At one point in the video, he was entering a house looking for something. He then realized that he has walked into a trap. The clip ended with Morgan tearfully calling out "Baby girl."

Is it really goodbye for Morgan?

Find out when "Criminal Minds" Season 11 airs this Wednesday, Mar. 23 on CBS.
