'Dark Souls III': Offers smoother gameplay, New Game+ with formidable enemies; Japan release possibly on March 24, 2016
"Dark Souls III" is a combination of three previous solid games - "Demon's Souls," "Dark Souls 2" and "Bloodborne" - but it also manages a fluidity and lightness that has to be experienced. The game has taken the heavier and darker elements of these dark fantasy adventures and made them faster and sleeker but still dishes out the same brutality when it comes to killing. It is rumored to be up for release on March 24, 2016 in Japan.
Technically, "Dark Souls III" has more features, an enhanced graphics engine, tighter controls and a smoother gameplay. Though "Bloodborne" is a different franchise, "Dark Souls III" borrows some elements from it as well. The difference is that in "Dark Souls III," a gamer requires more patience and tact to come up with a defense strategy.
Fans of this dark fantasy will be pleased to know that there is a return to New Game+. Gamers who want to continue with the game can now start up a New Game+ save file once they've defeated the final boss. They just have to reset their progress. The New Game+ option allows gamers to retain their character's progress and items. The bonus here is that the New Game+ in "Dark Souls 3" will let you fight out more diabolical enemies. It will also have new items and weapons not found in the basic level of difficulty of the game. Enemy locations will be reconfigured in the newer levels so that a gamer always has to be alert.
According to Gamespot, producer Brandon Williams says, "One thing that people are already noticing is the faster speed at which combat and action in Dark Souls III moves. It's a bit faster than previous Dark Souls games but not as fast as Bloodborne. I'd say it's just right. One of the things Miyazaki-san and the team at FromSoftware is trying to do is make Dark Souls III a smooth/seamless experience, without lowering the difficultly; and the new weapons, Battle Arts, character builds will play into that."
If you like playing dark fantasy adventures, go for "Dark Souls III" without hesitation.
