DMX Arrested for DUI? Publicist Says Claims Are 'False'

This morning reports of rapper DMX being arrested for drunk driving surfaced, but according to his publicist, these allegations are not true.

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was pulled over at 3 a.m. in Greensville, S.C. and was suspected of being under the influence. However, he passed a breathalyzer test and was charged with driving without a license, reported HipHopDX.

"Allegations about DMX being arrested for drunk driving are false. He was arrested early this morning but quickly released. X was given a breathalyzer test and easily passed it. He is back at his home in South Carolina and we are continuing our focus on his upcoming album and acting roles," said his publicist in a released statement.

Information released by the police station say he paid a fine and was able to move on.

Just last year he was also charged for driving without a license, and in 2008 he faced multiple arrests from reckless driving at 102 mph and animal cruelty allegations, reported Freep.com.

Most recently he appeared on the second season premiere of OWN's "Iyanla: Fix My Life," but believes the experience may have hurt his image instead of improved his life.

Iyanla Vanzant, the spiritual counselor who hosts "Iyanla: Fix My Life" on the OWN channel, visited DMX in his hometown of Yonkers, N.Y. where she attempted to help him overcome issues with addiction, trouble with the law and his family life. However, the rapper's representatives claimed she did no such thing.

"DMX agreed to be a guest on 'Iyanla: Fix My Life' with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his 10 children," the rapper's representative, Domenick Nati of Nati Celebrity Services, told AllHipHop.com recently. "When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not 'fix' DMX's life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX's personal written consent to use the footage."

DMX is releasing his latest album, Undisputed, this fall.
