Farrah Abraham 'Couples Therapy' Alleged Boyfriend Speaks Out Through Lawyer - 'We're Pursuing Legal Action Against Abraham'
Farrah Abraham's appearance on VH1's "Couples Therapy" has been rocked by scandal from the very beginning. Now the lawyer for the young man who was to appear on the show with Abraham is speaking out about his client's decision not to go through with the appearance.
"My client (Brian Dawe) categorically denies that his decision not to appear on 'Couples Therapy' had anything to do with any sort of anxiety or other mental health related issues," Brent M. Rainey told Radar Online.
Dawe was scheduled to "play the part" of Abraham's boyfriend for the reality series but changed his mind at the last minute and refused to go through with the scheme. He released documents showing that producers of the show still wanted him on the series and offered him more money to fulfill his contract, but nothing swayed Dawe.
"My client's decision was based solely on his lack of comfort, on a moral level, with the portrayal of his involvement with Ms. Abraham, as has already been well-documented in the media. In fact, my client is very much at peace with his decision not to be involved in this project. My client is in good mental health. Any statement that he had a mental breakdown is completely fabricated by Ms. Abraham and we are looking into pursuing this matter through the appropriate legal mechanisms," Rainey said.
Abraham has spoken at length about her time on the show and how beneficial it has been for her. But she has also slammed Dawe for his failure to appear with her. "I was told repeatedly, 'We want Brian to show up,' 'We're trying to get him to come here,' and 'He had a mental breakdown and maybe he would show up later,'" Abraham said. "But as time progressed, it was like, 'He's really not showing up.'"
"Couples Therapy" currently airs on VH1 and features Abraham, along with a host of other celebrity couples trying to work out their issues.
