'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 2 Spoilers: Show Executive Talks About Operation Cobalt; Abigail to Stage Setting of New Installment

AMC's hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The Walking Dead" Season 6 just ended. In the coming days, its companion show "Fear The Walking Dead" will be returning on air for its highly anticipated second season.

Not much has been known about Season 2 except for the fact that it will largely take place in the waters as Madison, Travis, and the rest of the company veer away from the threats of the Walkers in land. In fact, the situation will eventually put Strand's yacht he fondly called Abigail in a center stage of their struggle.

A report from the New York Times said that the survivors will be taking refuge in the sea vessel. However, this doesn't mean that they will be free from forms of danger.

According to the publication, "The boat will be the main setting for many episodes, which take their cues as much from thrillers like 'Dead Calm' and 'Knife in the Water' as from horror fare. There will be zombies, of course, but the greatest menace will be marauders and other seafaring survivors."

Speaking of the ship, the report also put some light about Mr. Strand's rather enigmatic presence. Described as "slick-talking man of means" and is capable of releasing "a wave of florid diction" that could "verbally dismantle" anyone including Madison's son, Nick, executive producer Dave Erickson said that fans will get to know more of the character in question when Season 2 returns.

Another yet to be unveiled mystery is Operation Cobalt. Spoiler report for those who missed Season 1, the military initiative literally wiped out the residents of Los Angeles. With little time and resources left, the military find it hard to diagnose if a person is "infected" with the "disease" or not. What they did is to indiscriminately "clear off" the city.

In an interview, this time with Entertainment Weekly, Erickson said that viewers will "get a hint" on the truth about Cobalt.

"There will be an element of Cobalt that we will see, but we won't go down the military road," the EP however clarified.

"Fear The Walking Dead" Season 2 premieres Sunday, Apr. 10 on AMC.
