'Fixer Upper's' Final Season to Feature Celebrity Guests
If season 5 is truly the last for "Fixer Upper," the show made sure that it will go out with a bang.
According to US Weekly, the show's network HGTV on Thursday announced that the show's final season will feature former First Lady Laura Bush and former NFL-standout Tim Tebow. It was not confirmed if the two will only be the celebrity guests for season 5, but it can be expected that the Chip and Joanna Gaines will pull off a few more surprises for the final season.
Bush and Tebow are expected to lend a helping hand to the host couple as the latter convert old houses into outstanding ones. In addition, Deadline noted that the fifth and final season of "Fixer Upper" will consist of 19 episodes.
The Gaineses announced that their show will be ending after season 5 last month via their official blog site. "This has been an amazing adventure! We have poured our blood, sweat and tears into this show. We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause," wrote the couple.
Though the show may be coming to an end, Chip and Joanna assured their fans that they will still be very much active in their community. "We aren't done renovating homes. We aren't done designing things to make your home your favorite place on earth. We aren't done working towards restoration in all things or helping out those who could use a hand. In fact, in all of these things, we are just getting started," the couple explained.
Earlier this month, speculations that the security of their children was the main reason behind the Gaineses' decision to end "Fixer Upper." The couple, however, clarified that matter through a statement sent by their representative to Entertainment Tonight.
The rep said that the decision is "truly just based on wanting to catch their breath for a minute" so that they can focus on spending more time with their family and attend to their other businesses.
