Galaxy S4 Software Update Rolls out for Verizon Customers
A Samsung Galaxy S4 software update is currently rolling out OTA for Verizon customers.
It will introduce users on the carrier to Samsung's Optical Reader application that allows them to find contacts, addresses, and business cards with "real-time recognition." They will also be able to convert words to sentences from one language to another or search words quickly in a preview screen.
The update will improve Wi-Fi connectivity and changes verbiage on a couple of items such as Call Block and Factory Reset and tweaks S Voice to S Memo. It is 150MB. If the update has not automatically installed, users could perform the Check for Updates function found in Settings on the S4 to access it.

The Galaxy S4 Android 4.3, JellyBean update started rolling out for the LTE model earlier last week.
The first S4 to receive it is the unlocked version with the model number GT-I9505. The firmware is only available in Germany at this time, but it should start rolling out in other markets during the coming weeks.
The software brings many changes to the software including KNOX, Galaxy Gear compatibility, improved performance with graphics, improved stability of user interface, and security.
Once this update is installed, users will not be able to downgrade, according to the change log for the software.
The Android 4.3, JellyBean update for the Galaxy Note 3 should be available soon in the form of a new ROM.
CyanogenMod founder Steve Kondik recently spoke about the status of his custom build of the software for the device. He shared an image of the handset running it on his Google+ account on Monday. The CyanogenMod is based off of Android 4.3, JellyBean.
Test versions of the ROM will be available on the XDA developer's forum soon, however; there is no word on when the final version will roll out.
