Samsung, the phone’s manufacturer released pictures of the new mobile device showing the curved chassis making for a neat, distinctive, natural look. Similar to iPhone 4S specs, the Nexus Prime is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera capable of filming in 1080 HD.

No official information has been confirmed concerning what the company will actually unveil during Wednesday's event but the new software and the Smartphone are the likely candidates.

Previously scheduled for Monday last week, Google and Samsung postponed it following the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

“We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing,” the companies said in a joint statement.

Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is going to be the first version of an Android handset that combines both phone and tablet operating systems, a method Apple applied to its iOS 5 system. Rumors surrounding the Nexus Prime speculate that it will be sold for $300 with a two-year contract.

The Guardian reported that at the company’s earning call last week, Google chief executive Larry Page said that 190 million Android devices have been activated since its inception. He also said that the mobile business was on an equivalent run rate to being a $2.5 billion business.
