'Halo 5: Guardians' DLC News, Details: Latest Expansion Pack Features New Armor, Gun, Modes, Maps
As fulfillment of the promised post-release support from developer 343 Industries for its newly-launched "Halo 5: Guardians," the first DLC for the game has already been announced and it is packed with whole new exciting content including a ninja-themed armor, a legendary gun, a huge team battle map, and modes, just to name a few. What's more, the expansion pack is free.
As detailed over at the game's official Halo Waypoint Blog, the studio announced that the first expansion pack is called "Battle of Shadow and Light."
The highlight of the update is the arrival of the Big Team Battle mode which features a slew of custom-made maps namely Basin, Deadlock, Guillotine, and Recurve - all of which are capable enough to hold an 8-vs-8 duel game.
According to Cinema Blend, as further detailed, the maps were a collaboration between the studio and the Forge community. These will also be made available for use in the Custom Games and Matchmaking mode.
"Battle of Shadow and Light" also introduces a couple of REQs including a new ultra rare Shinobi ninja-themed armor set and a Tracer Armor set, just to name a few. The update also contains a new Tundra and Woodland-themed camo skin pack for the Mongoose, Warthog, Scorpion and Mantis.
Fans of the "Halo 5" will surely draw delight from a new assassination technique that is to be introduced in the game. Called "Shove It," the new assassination system is ranked Uncommon in rarity and is often described to be "brutal" but "occasionally hilarious."
GameRant.com wrote that the new free DLC is part of 343 Industries and Microsoft's efforts to keep the players stuck to the game until they release the "full suite of content" which is slated to arrive by June 2016.
"Halo 5: Guardians" was released in Oct. 27, and is available for Xbox One.
