'Homeland' Season 5 Episode 8 Spoilers: Carrie Close to Death; Will Saul Betray His Country?

Things are about to get even more intense and complicated as the fifth season of the hit political drama TV series from Showtime, "Homeland," continues this week with an episode that will see one character of the show still in grave danger while another is close to defecting.

Fans may remember that in the previous episode, Carrie Mathison found out the reason why the Russians want her dead. In a desperate attempt to save her neck, the ex-CIA operative will seek the help of a person who, in the first place, she should not even be talking with.

In the promo video for the episode titled "All About Allison," Carrie can be seen talking to Allison Carr. Clearly distressed because of all the predicaments she constantly finds herself in, she begs the CIA Berlin Station Chief for help reviewing some of her old field reports. The latter responds that it would be impossible for her to do so as they are classified files. Carrie, on the other hand, pleads for her to reconsider.

Carrie confides to Allison that there are people who are bent on killing her. Giving her that small favor could apparently help put an end to the ordeal. The trailer reveals that indeed, the protagonist is in a very dangerous situation. A sniper props his rifle on the window and the person being focused on in the scope is Carrie. Could this hitman be one of Ivan Krupin's men? Will Allison help Carrie get out of the sticky situation?

Meanwhile, the spoiler report from Melty.com speculates that fans might witness Saul finally giving in to the pressure and betraying his country. Citing the same promo trailer, the site pointed out the discussion between him and Eti. The latter offers the option of smuggling Saul out of Germany. Saul, however, quickly realized what he is about to get into.

"You mean defect for real?" he asked the Israeli.

"Homeland" Season 5 airs every Sundays at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
