iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors: Speculation continues on features and launch

Some tech experts believe it might just be the same as its predecessor

The next Apple event will happen this September, but fans are one step ahead of the tech giant in speculating its new products. This includes the new iPhone 7 or the iPhone 6s. Although new, tech experts say that they don't expect that the iPhone 7 will be any different from its predecessor. This is based on past cycles wherein Apple rolls out upgrades every two years.

However, it does not mean that the iPhone 7 would be the same as the iPhone 6. According to Inquirer, Apple is expected to make the outer casing of the new iPhone much stronger and resistant. This will avoid another "bendgate" scandal that happened shortly after the release of the iPhone 6. The iPhone 7 may also have a scratch-proof sapphire display, the same one used in their line of Apple watches.

Techradar also adds that the Force Touch feature is expected to be applied in this next-generation iPhone, as it is also found in the new line of Macbooks. By detecting how hard the user presses the screen, it can respond accordingly and allow various functions to take place. The Telegraph also gathered information from various sources that suggest that the new iPhone will be equipped with a camera that produces photos that are of DSLR quality.

As for color options, it is likely that Apple will stick to the existing colors of current iPhone models, though some say that the company will come out with a rose gold shade. While no confirmation is set, it can be remembered that chief executive Tim Cook claimed that they took into consideration the demand of the Asian market, particularly the Chinese, in choosing the colors of the iPhone.

Complete details about the features and specs of the new iPhone 7 are speculated to be discussed by Cook. Following the usual pattern of Apple events, it is likely to be held on Sept. 9.
