'iZombie' Season 2 – Is it Liv & Blaine or Liv & Major?

Season 2 of "iZombie" has Liv searching for love and brains. For Liv, brains are easier to find. But does she fall in love with her enemy - the one who wants her dead and the one who shot her brother dead?

The season finale of "iZombie" had Liv and Blaine on opposite sides, nearly killing each other in the process. At the beginning of the upcoming season, Liv and Blaine both come to the conclusion that somebody is eliminating the zombies. Their investigations into this matter will bring them together and they will have to form a team.

Creator of "iZombie", Rob Thomas tells TVGuide.com,"Blaine and Liv will figure out somewhere reasonably early in Season 2 that someone is eliminating zombies and that will make very strange bedfellows out of the two of them. Certainly there's no love lost there, but they will find they may need each other's help before all zombies are taken out."

Both start out angry at each other, but this soon turns to sexual tension. However, fans who are expecting the two to get together romantically may be disappointed. Rob Thomas spoke to TV Line, saying, "We love, love scenes with Blaine and Liv in them, and a lot of Season 2 is about finding reasons for them to be in the same scene together...Season 2 will have a lot of humans going after zombies, and that will make very strange bedfellows of Liv and Blaine - though not literally."

There might also be a possibility that Liv might get back with her first love, Major, though both will have new love interests in the coming season. Thomas has said that both Liv and Major will be dating different people. He also said that although Liv has been trying to contact Major, he is dodging her as he still needs to comes to terms with how his life has changed.

The first episode itself has Liv and Major thrown in together. Titled "Grumpy Old Liv", the official synopsis states that Liv has eaten the brains of a cantankerous old man to help figure out the reasons for the old man's death. The episode has a cutscene of Liv acting out the persona of a grumpy old man. Liv goes to visit Blaine and Major is starting to show the side effects of Ravi's invention. What do these side effects mean for Liv as it is her only hope to become human again?

Season 2 of "iZombie" premieres on The CW on Oct. 6 at 9 p.m. ET.
