Kardashians Suing Former Stepmom, Seeking Damages Over Late Father's Diary

The Kardashian sisters are reportedly suing their late father's wife Ellen Kardashian over interviews and information she allegedly sold to the media.

Kim, 31, Khloe, 28, and Kourtney, 32, have openly denied claims made by Ellen about their family and the trio along with mother Kris Jenner is now suing the widow for allegedly selling "false" stories to tabloids, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ellen allegedly released extracts from the late Robert Kardashian Jr.'s private diaries to In Touch magazine, which the sisters believe is unlawful.

"Today's filing should serve as notice that they will vigorously defend their rights when forced to do so," their attorney Martin Singer of Lavely & Singer allegedly told THR.

In the lawsuit, the Kardashians and Jenner claim that by releasing their late father's diary extracts, Ellen carried out a "despicable and unlawful scheme to hold in secret and convert, and now exploit … private personal and copyright protected" material.

The women are suing Ellen for a "conversion and copyright infringement and demanding a full and complete accounting and imposition of a constructive trust." In addition they want "at least $500,000 in damages, plus more in profits, statutory damages, punitive and exemplary damages."

The diary extracts reflect what is described as being a dysfunctional family and unsafe household. At the time Robert was married to Jenner, who is portrayed as physically and emotionally abusive to her children.

Ellen, who married the late Robert Kardashian weeks before he passed away in 2003, has also previously made explosive claims about Khloe's paternity. She suggested that Robert previously acknowledged that the reality TV star was not his biological child.

"The audacity you have to mention my father's name like this. Should be ashamed of urself … I let a lot of things slide but this one is really low. YOU ARE DISGUSTING," Khloe tweeted in response to Ellen's claims.

In the lawsuit the sisters also claim that their late father's will gave them legal rights to the "bulk of his personal tangible and intangible property," including "personal effects, books, works on paper, rights in literary … properties, rights in works of art … copyrights, publishing rights, and rights to a deceased personality's name, voice, signature, photograph, or likeness."

Ultimately the Kardashians believe that they also legally own Robert's diary and if proven to be accurate, this would mean Ellen had no legal rights to release extracts. They accuse her of exploiting and profiting off of Robert's property.

"So my dad's ex is selling ridiculous stories again to tabloids! Do not believe it! Sad when people need $ & get desperate," Kim wrote on Facebook Jan. 24.

"10 yrs since dad passed & this woman he married for 2 wks before he died need 2 get a job instead of trying 2 destroy families w fake stories!" she continued. "PS that story that my mom beat me & threatened to kill me hahahhahaha! I'd beat her! JK truly laughable! #NOTTRUE."
