Kate Middleton Pregnant? Prince William Drops Hint of Second Baby 'Soon' (Photo)

Is Duchess Kate Middleton pregnant with baby number two? Prince William may have inadvertently spilled the beans during their trip to New Zealand while speaking with a local.

Cynthia Read knitted a shawl for baby Prince George, and while giving it to Prince William, he leaned in and told her, "You might have to make another one soon."

"The way William said it was like he was dropping a hint, letting me in on a secret," Read told reporters after the event.

Of course, William may have been joking, as he previously told reporters that one baby was more than enough for now. He and Kate have been adjusting to their lives as parents of 8-month-old Prince George and certainly have their hands full with the baby and their new royal duties.

However, speculation has always surrounded the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and when they may have a second child. Rumors flew when Kate refused to drink wine at the unveiling of an official portrait of Queen Elizabeth. It was the same type of rumor that plagued the couple when they went on a trip abroad last year before George was born and Kate refused to eat peanut butter or drink any alcohol.

"I couldn't possibly comment," Read said when asked if she thought William was serious about her making a second shawl. "Obviously if I'm asked to do another one I would be honored, but we'll wait and see."

The Duke and Duchess were thrilled to receive the gift on behalf of the New Zealand government. It was also an honor for Read to not only make the shawl but get to present it to the royal couple.

"Kate told me they were really happy with it and George wore it a lot," Read said. "But she apologized for not so far finding an appropriate event outdoors to wrap him in it. I shouldn't think he will wear it much more as he is nearly a little boy. It was wonderful to meet them; they were a charming couple."
