Kim Kardashian's Baby Named After Sound?
Kim Kardashian's baby's name may finally be coming to light.
Kardashian, the 31-year-old reality television star who recently gave birth to her first child with rapper Kanye West, has reportedly named her daughter Kaidence Donda West, according to OK! magazine sources. The name reportedly is a musical reference to the word cadence, which means "a rhythmic sequence or flow of sounds in language or the beat, time, or measure of rhythmical motion or activity," according to the Merriam Webster dictionary.
The report comes days after other possible names have been making headlines, including Kai Donda West, which was cited by sources from TheHollywoodLife.com. Kardashian has previously admitted to wanting her child's name to start with a "K".
However, she did reveal that the couple came up with a few name options that did not match that blueprint.
"I think it would be really cute because Kanye and I are both K's, but half the names on our list aren't K's," she told Extra.
The pair previously thought about naming their child North, much to the disapproval of their family, according to reports.
"North is at the top of the list of names. They're not totally sure about it," sources reportedly told In Touch Weekly. "Kanye loves it, Kim is okay with it. The family doesn't like [the name]."
Although Kardashian's camp has yet to confirm the details of her daughter's name, her sister Khloe Kardashian-Odom made it clear that fans should not immediately expect to hear all of the details about the newest addition to the family.
"More info will come when the time is right! Thank you all for understanding," she tweeted recently. "We love you all dearly! Overwhelmed with love right now."
Kris Jenner, the Kardashian matriarch, spoke more about her newest granddaughter while walking the red carpet of the Daytime Emmy Awards Sunday to promote her upcoming daytime talk show.
When she was asked when fans would be able to get more details about the newest addition to the Kardashian family, Jenner hinted at the possibilities that it would not be long.
"Soon, I hope," she told E! the day after her granddaughter was born. "Yeah, it just all came down yesterday, it's a lot."
