Kris Jenner Planned Kanye West's Over The Top Proposal to Kim Kardashian? Legal Docs Raise Questions

Kris Jenner recently admitted to playing a key role in the planning of Kanye West's proposal to Kim Kardashian.

The matriarch, 58, admitted to being involved in the planning of Kardashian and West's engagement in a declaration for the couple's ongoing lawsuit against YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley. The Hollywood stars claim Hurley violated a non-disclosure agreement by publishing the video.

"I played a major role in organizing and running the event. As part of this I was directly involved in formulating and was familiar with the guest list," Jenner said in court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com.

West, 36, made headlines with his over the top proposal to Kardashian, 33, on her birthday in October after renting out AT&T Park in San Francisco and arranging a 50-piece orchestra to play Lana Del Rey's hit song "Young And Beautiful" as background music.

"I gotta apologize to the race of males for turning it up so much," West told Power 106 last year. "I was nervous a little bit ... But more about everything being on cue."

Fans, who initially hailed West for his efforts, are now wondering just how much of the extravagant engagement was the rapper's own idea.

Last year the proposal was filmed for a future episode of the Jenner-Kardashian family's E! reality TV series "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." Hurley, who was present during West's lavish proposal, is accused of illegally uploading a video of the proposal on MixBit and then tweeting it out to his followers.

"Hurley proceeded to try to turn the event into one starring himself broadcasting the images he knew were the property rights of someone else," legal documents charge.

"The rights to broadcast the event were sold on an exclusive basis," Kardashian reportedly said in a declaration to the court. "Such rights (including future rights) are (and will be) of diminished value if others preempt the official, contractually authorized broadcast or other publication rights that Kanye West or I own with their own, earlier unauthorized publication or broadcast."

Kardashian and West are set to wed in Paris in May and a legal hearing is set for March 18.
