LA Lakers Trade Rumors: Russell Westbrook Might Join Kevin Love To The Lakers; Byron Scott Hurting The Team?
The NBA season is already underway and the Los Angeles Lakers are still up for the challenge of at least joining the playoffs list. New rumors emerge that the team might fire its coach, Byron Scott. Meanwhile, on the trading side of things, speculations were rife indicating the possibility of Russell Westbrook coming over to the Lakers if Kevin Love also does.
The Lakers are at the 14th standing in the Western Conference with only two wins and according to some analysts, the team even had a hard time winning the two games.
The report from SportsWorldNews.com indicates that the franchise might have a slim chance of getting into the playoffs and there's someone that can be blamed for this predicament.
Citing their sources, the sports website stated that Byron Scott, the former Lakers player (1983-1993 and 1996-1997) and now, coach, is not quite adept in handling the new talents. His strategy of staying on the defensive first and then firing up for the offensive didn't seem to work in the recent game scenarios.
Will his failure to meet the expectations cost him his part in the team? It remains to be found out.
For the meantime, a report from Yibada.com cited Brian Windhorst of ESPN talking about the Laker's purported "long-term plan" on the Dan Patrick Show. According to the sports analyst and reporter, there's a strong connection between Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook. This could bring forth the possibility of having the two big names playing for the Lakers.
According to the report, if the Cleveland Cavaliers center agrees to sign in with the team next summer, then the OKC Thunder player might be joining him if he becomes a free agent. The two previously played together for the UCLA Bruins.
Speculations indicated that the Lakers would not hesitate to trade in Julius Randle for him. However, it could be another story for Westbrook. If the OKC can't make it to the Finals this season and the next, the 2015 All-Star MVP might consider playing for his hometown, the site wrote.
