Lebron James Accused of Saying 'Jews Suck at Basketball'

Polarizing basketball star Lebron James allegedly made an anti-Semitic comment during a basketball game at a Jewish community center in Ohio.

During the game, James' team was “crushing” the other team, according to TMZ. At one point, according to reports, James said to a teammate, “These Jews suck at basketball.”

This infuriated another player who shouted back: “Princess James, Get out of Cleveland!”

He added: “[expletive] you, you ruined the NBA!”

The man, who apparently worked at the community center, was suspended from his job for three days.

Despite the verbal attack, one of the Jewish members of the team said James was “nice to everyone.”

Bleacher Reports also said that the allegations are probably just “the rantings of a delusional and deranged Cavaliers fan that is upset that arguably the world’s best basketball player spurned Cleveland for Miami,” referring to the much-hyped free-agent departure James made for The Heat in 2009.

A commenter on the sports website was concerned how much vitriol there has been for James since he decided to leave Cleveland.

“Wow, the hate for Lebron is absolutely ridiculous,” the commenter said. “It's sad how people are just trying to destroy a 26 year old guy. Lebron can't do anything without backlash.”

People at the community center say the alleged anti-Semitic remark never happened. James also has a rabbi for a “spiritual advisor,” according to a separate report by TMZ. Rabbi Yishayahu Yosef Pinto has given spiritual guidance on business matters for the basketball star.
