MacBook Air 2016 News: Is It The End of the Road For This Product Line?
There are rumors saying that the MacBook Air 2016 will still be hitting the shelves before the current year ends. However, there are other reports claiming that Apple might phase out the premium notebook product line.
Citing the report from NeuroGadget.com, it is indicated that the latest version of the MacBook device will be released next month, December, in time for the Christmas holiday.
However, quoting their other sources, the publication also went on to indicate in their article that the device might also roll out in the spring of 2016, following the March release of its 2015 version.
Meanwhile, there are also reports saying that the upcoming device, and any of its future iterations, won't be produced anymore. According to HNGN.com, Jan Dawson of Jackdaw Research also thinks that the probability is high that the Cupertino-based tech giant will stop the production of the MacBook Air line.
"They kept [the MacBook Air] around just as they do with older iPhones, but the MacBook is now in the same position as the newest iPhone. That makes me wonder if the Air will go away over time," he said, according to Macworld,
Still on the issue of the product line's cancellation, a Yibada report cited the chief of research and head of Kantar WorldPanel Comtech 's US business Carolina Milanesi who said that Apple is now moving towards "mobility and portability." This means that the MacBook has to go and what is replacing it, according to the site, is the new iPad Pro.
Yibada claimed that the MacBook Air 2016 will be announced soon. The device in question will reportedly run on the said latest OS and will also feature the Force Touch technology. It is said to arrive in two screen size variants: 15-inch and 13-inch with a better battery pack.
